Martyn Maxey is the UK's specialist in Long hair and wedding hair and has a great wealth of knowledge of wedding hair.
Martyn has taught long hair to other hairdressers at L'Oreal and Wella, for many years worked on all the bridal magazines, and has attended over 1000 weddings.
Wedding Trials
I always advise a wedding trial, this is to talk through your day and to gain an insight into the type of day you are aiming for. The more information you can give me the better the picture we can build up of what will be your best look and the best hairstyle for you. This also incorporates Veil, Tiara, and flowers. This is usually 1 hour and cost £120 with Martyn Maxey and £100 with one of the stylists. Please bring as much information with you to the trail, ie pictures of your dress, a veil you're your dress maker to borrow a shop one) head piece (we also have a selection of tiaras to try), flowers, diamante clips or pins, the more information the better.
Wedding Day
On the day we can come to your home, hotel or wherever you are going to get ready on the day, or you can come into the salon. We can shampoo your hair on the day (which we prefer) or you can wash your hair the previous day as you wish. The wedding party can comprise just you, but can also include mothers, mother in laws, bridesmaids big and small, friends and relatives. We also do Grooms, Best men and Ushers.
Where we go.
 We can do your hair in the salon, at your home, at your hotel or at any address you wish, so if you want to get married on a beach in Fiji we can be there for you.
We will travel to any part of the World that you desire.
Costs
We generally quote on an individual basis depending on time, place, and the number in the party, so please ask us to quote for you. As a guide £140 per hour with discount for half day or a day, plus travel expenses. Stylist guidelines are the same with a guide to the cost of £100 per hour with discounts on half day or day, plus travel expenses.
Time frames.
As soon as you set your wedding date call in to discuss your options if you have 18 months to go you have a realistic chance to change everything about your hair ie colour and length. If you are going to get married in a months time it is more of a case of working with what you have but still this can mean better colour and improve condition and also a better haircut more suited to the day. Also you can plan for the brides' maids and mothers, as this is also really important, at Martyn Maxey we leave nothing to chance. You also should consider the beauty side, and making your skin look perfect for the day we can take of this with our beauty Salon and give you that radiant look, we offer everything from waxing, tanning, Microdermabrasion, facials, nail extensions, see our beauty section on this web site for more details of what we do.
Head piece/ tiara
 This is a fast changing area in weddings and now all sorts of head pieces are used from small and delicate to making a statement. What ever you choose we can adapt your hairstyle to suit your choice of accessory
Veil
70% of our brides wear veils, I think they add a lot to your overall look and are unique to your wedding day, as it probably will be the only day in your life you can ever wear one so consider it carefully and try plenty on with your dress,. Often Brides will bring them along to the trial or their dressmaker will lend a veil for the trial
Hair Clips
These are really useful and versatile; you now have a huge choice and can be used afterwards so pick something you really like.
Flowers
 We work a lot with real flowers, if you wish to bring your florist along for a chat please do, often we prefer not to have the loose flowers wired, and we can also use flower clips and circlets for you and/or the bridesmaids
